Engineering Registration In order to practice engineering independently, it is necessary for the engineer to be licensed in the state. To accomplish this requires the passing of two professional examinations. The first is the engineering intern (Fundamentals of Engineering), which is generally taken near the time of graduation. The second is the Principles and Practices, which is taken after more than 4 years of practice. A review course is provided by TU Continuing Education. There is no cost to students, but contact them for time and places. This generally starts the first Saturday of the semester. Register to take the FE exam at www.pels.state.ok.us. Also check the NCEES websites for additional requirements. www.ncees.org and els-examreg.org. Additional information about professional engineers is on my industrial site www.thewaycorp.com . Happy hunting. |
